Damon Thomas and Curlen Phipps, co-founders of Quiq Labs, have made history as pioneers in Fresno’s tech industry. Their journey began in an Ohio high school, where they bonded over a love for technology—Thomas excelling in graphic design and Phipps in programming. Together, they built multiple businesses, eventually launching Quiq Labs, Fresno’s only Black-owned software company.
Their breakthrough came when they won 59 Days of Code in 2013 with QikLead, a QR-based mobile marketing tool that revolutionized customer engagement. With a shared vision of innovation and accessibility, they continue to drive digital transformation. Their story is a testament to Black excellence, entrepreneurship, and the power of collaboration.
